elevating civic discourse through the power of nature
Our Mission

The Birch Creek Dialogues seek to use the power of nature to elevate discourse, reduce political polarization and strengthen civic engagement.
The Birch Creek Dialogues is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Our Objectives
1- Use The Power of Nature to Bridge Disagreement
Utilize our 160 acres in Idaho as a place to facilitate constructive dialogue among elected officials, thought leaders and activists. Our unique setting is based on emerging science on the power of nature in reducing polarization and strengthening cognitive elements required for building consensus. An increasing number of public and private enterprises are increasing investments in dialogue as a way of building resilience and sharpening strategic agility.
2- Deepen Civic Engagement
Create programs that deepen civic engagement by grounding participants in a unique natural setting, free from the influence of partisanship, social media and sound-bites.
3- Conserve & Renew
Collaborations on conservation and economic vitality facilitate constructive dialogue with despot stakeholders in critical wilderness areas.
4- Research and Evaluation
Provide access to environmental neuro-scientists and others whose research is focused on the cognitive benefits of awe and nature, including research fellowships to enhance that research and the potential for replicability.

Birch Creek Valley, Idaho
Exploring Cultural Roots
Birch Creek Valley, located in Lemhi County, boasts a rich cultural history, including the Lewis and Clark Expedition and the Native American heritage of the surrounding mountains and their natural resources.

A Critical Migration Corridor
Birch Creek Valley is a critical migration corridor, linking Yellowstone to the Central Idaho Wilderness, ensuring genetic diversity and ecosystem resilience for keystone species. This valley serves as a vital wildlife and genetic "highway," enabling species migration, resilience, and biodiversity.
